Hope you are having a great summer! I have mailed out the registration forms for piano lessons. Classes will start on Monday, August 31st. Please get your paperwork back to me by August 1st, so that I can order materials and get ready. (On a personal note, my grandson was born on June 16th and I am having a wonderful time with family this summer. Can’t wait to see everyone in a few weeks.)

Do you have a RSS reader on your computer? Do you know what it is? If not, here is a link to help you get started: http://www.wizard-creek.com/rss/tutorial/rss-how-to-subscribe-to-feeds.htm
I am posting this information so that anyone can add my piano website to their daily reading content. I do not post new entries daily, but when there is new content, you will be alerted and know that it had been added, if you put this website on your RSS reader list.
Do you need a pedal for your keyboard?
Posted by Tanya in Uncategorized on May 25th, 2009
A damper pedal is a very important part of playing the piano. It serves two purposes. First, it assists the pianist in producing a legato (playing smoothly connected notes) in passages where no fingering is available to make this otherwise possible. Secondly, raising the damper pedal causes all the strings to vibrate sympathetically with whichever notes are being played, which greatly enriches the piano’s tone.
If you have a keyboard that will accept a pedal and you don’t have
one, the M-Audio SP-2 Sustain Pedal is my favorite. It is not expensive and it is suppose to work on all keyboards.
Look at the back panel on your keyboard and if it says, “Sustain” or “Pedal”, then it will work with a pedal. You can also look in your manual.
Click on the pedal to the left of this post and it will take you to a site where it can be purchased.
Hope this helps!

Recital Information
When? Sunday, May 17, 2009
Time? Either 1:30 or 3:00
Where? The First Protestant Church, 172 West Coll Street

What do I bring? Your music. We will not have refreshments at this location.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your recital time and stay until the end of the recital. Every performer needs an audience. Students have worked very hard on their pieces. If you can possibly find a babysitter for very small children it will help cut down on distractions for performers. Thank you so much.
